On Sunday, May 21, the Daniel Boone Homestead hosted its annual “Volunteer Recognition Celebration” This event, which celebrates all of the wonderful volunteers who make it possible for the site to offer programs throughout the year, was well-attended.

As part of the celebration, the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Daniel Boone Homestead conferred the annual “Volunteer of the Year” Award to Deb Drager, who donated several hundred hours of time to the site in 2016.

On hand were Senator Judy Schwank and Representative David Maloney, both of whom spoke about the importance of volunteerism in preserving sites like the Daniel Boone Homestead.

Viva Catering, who has joined with the Homestead to offer wedding and special event packages, generously donated the food and drink.
